must have’s for your photography website
01
add your location
Because you are a location based industry, it’s important to add your location throughout your website. We’d recommend your home, services, and contact pages, as well as a note in your footer as well. This helps with SEO (search engine optimization) for when someone wants to google a photographer in their area.

02
resize your images
You’ll likely have high quality images to send to your clients, but we recommend doing a few things to your images before uploading. For your images, you’ll want to resave them down, we recommend no more than 1MB (about 2000px wide) for your larger banners, and under 500KB (about 1000px wide) for your portfolio images.
03
rename your images
We’re all about tips that help with SEO, and renaming your images is important as well. We suggest adding in a few keywords separated by dashes, this not only helps with organization but allows your ideal clients to find you!

04
add reviews
Many service based industries including photographers rely on positive reviews as this builds trust for potential clients. Even if you have Google Reviews set up, we recommend touching base with clients after their shoot so they can share more about their experience and to have those reviews (possibly with matching photos) directly on your website!
05
add personal touches
When someone is hiring a photographer, they are hiring YOU, so make sure there are a few personal touches throughout your website. Make sure you have an ABOUT page set up with a photo of you as potential clients want to connect with the person behind the camera. We also suggest adding in a few fun facts throughout, such as how you love meeting clients (coffee vs. drinks) or where your dream travel destination is!
