After Your Purchase
Within 48 hours, we’ll send along a contributor invite from Squarespace to your new website. (It’ll look exactly like the website template you purchased).
You’ll also receive an email from Teachable which will provide you with access to the template tutorial videos!
Go Through the Tutorial Videos
Once you’re ready to start making moves on your website, follow along our tutorial videos to make it your own.
Think of this like a “learn how to create your own website” crash course. We cover how to make changes to the template, but also offer a few tips on writing your content, getting your site ready for SEO (search engine optimization), and preparing your graphics in CANVA. You’ll also walk away with lots of new skills and the ins and outs of how to use Squarespace so you can make changes in the future.
This is a great idea if you are a designer who isn’t confident in custom coding, as Squarespace is user friendly and easy to use. You’ll be able to make those changes for you client, all while using the amazing branding and logos you created for them!
Get Launched
When you’re all set to launch for you client, you’ll need to do a few things.
First they’ll need a Squarespace payment plan (we recommend the Business plan, and Squarespace offers 20% deals quite often!).
You will also need to purchase or connect an existing domain (don’t worry, we go over this in the tutorials!) then buckle up and get ready for take off!
Just a note, our templates come with a six month free trial, you will need to add a payment plan either when you want to launch or before the trial ending (you will receive a reminder email).

+ as web designer’s yourself, are you ok with other designer’s using your templates?
Quick answer, YES! We don’t want to gate keep our templates and think they’re a great solution for other designers to use. We do require that each website you create, you purchase a new template (essentially a new license) and we do appreciate the credit love in the footer (our suggestion would be to say TEMPLATE BY THE COAST KIT, BRANDING + CUSTOMIZATIONS BY YOU).
We also love seeing our templates in action, so it’s also nice when a graphic/brand/logo designer works their magic!
+ Does the client or myself need to purchase the template?
Either or is fine, as stated before is we require a template purchase per client, but if it’s easier for you to set it all up for your client, totally fine. Overall, you can add multiple contributors to a website! We’re also happy to remove ourselves as contributors if you’d feel more comfortable with that (just shoot us a message!).
+ How easy are these squarespace templates to use?
Very easy, especially for someone who has a bit of background in design. Our tutorial videos go through a ton of detail on customizing these templates, and we use CANVA templates for you to update the graphics (but hey, as a designer, you have a lot of flexibility). If you’ve ever been overwhelmed with coding and custom css, don’t fret, Squarespace is an incredible platform and you’ll be able to pass the website on confidently to your client.
When you purchase a template too, the framework and layout is all done, so you create these websites quickly and efficiently.
+ CAN I ADD A BLOG OR SHOP to THE squarespace website?
You’ve got it! You may need to get a different plan to add a shop, but we have specific tutorial videos walking you through this.
+ WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SQUARESPACE 7.0 & 7.1? WHAT VERSION IS BEST FOR ME?
Feel free to visit our detailed blog post here which elaborates on the key differences. Overall, if you’re starting out for the first time, we recommend 7.1, it’s the most recent version of Squarespace and has a lot of amazing features. If you’ve used 7.0 before and prefer that backend, you can easily stay with that same version and there will be plenty of support for it, even though it isn’t the most current version.
Does The Coast Kit offer support?
All our Coast Kit templates were built to be easy-to-use, but we do understand it can be overwhelming as you customize your template and a few options to support.
If you have any questions in regards to our templates, feel free to reach out and our support team will get back to you within two business days.
Any support issues related to the Squarespace platform itself including plugin + coding modifications, or domain + hosting setup issues, unfortunately, we do not provide support on these matters and suggest you chat with a Squarespace support representative or visit their help forum which is available 24/7.
